Story of becoming an author
Rachel Schofield is a huge fantasy fan from Harry Potter to the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, she had always loved the medieval storylines. She has even been attending
renaissance festivals since she was seventeen. Growing up on stage and singing in Indiana, she had always had a talent for storytelling. When she was not singing, she
would head to the library constantly to find the next book addiction. That had inspired her to start writing fantasy novels when she had an idea. Not being able to get the idea out of her head, she finally wrote it down and could not stop writing. Having ADD, she becomes bored easily and has a need to always do something productive, such as creating a whole new world filled with vampires or dragons.
Inspiration for A Dragon's Love
Rachel knew that she wanted to inspire people with her art not just in dramatic tales but including mental health aspects like anxiety, depression, and loss. Going through a personal loss at fourteen, she went into depression for three years and nearly ended everything if it were not for finding her faith in the Lord. Since she gave her life to God, she wants to use his influence in her books and to let her readers know they are never alone.
Fun Facts
When not writing, she loves to try out new restaurants with friends, reading to her niece, and listening to smooth jazz with her cat Belle. From time to time, she will go to Lido beach with her brother and collect seashells. Also, she has a mission to travel to as many new cafes in Florida as she is able, seeing which one has the best cold brew! Further, she loves connecting with fellow book enthusiasts and author friends she has made on TikTok.
